green sealed box of american eagle silver coins

Hi, I am a newbie, and I had a question. If I buy a sealed box of american eagle silver, would it matter if I open it? Would its value drop if I unseal it, or it should not matter? Thanks, Silberguy

Don't open the box. It will decrease the value only slightly. If you want an Eagle and some other fancy rounds get a Silver Sampler from Lone Star Silver.

I've been told by pros that if you buy a box, DON'T open it. If you want to gawk at the pretty silver, buy the same amount loose in tubes.
Not sure why it would make that much of a difference, but...so I've been told.

I need to open it to make it easy for me to store it. Is it only a minor drop in value? If that is the case I might do it.

Hide it under your bed by the headboard (if need be, stick some dirty clothes in front of it)- noone will find it. You shouldn't need to open the box.

To open or not to open? This is good question and I don't have the answer, I have opened mine but tucked one away unopened. I just wonder if someone buying the unopened one would pay me without opening it? I guess the reason someone would pay more for an unopened box would be to search for higher grade coins? The ones I opened, I just looked to see that everything was there and opened one tube to look at a coin.

I wouldn't go though and look for higher grade coins because A. I don't care. B. I wouldn't know what to look for anyway.

If you promise not to open it, I will sell you a sealed box dirt cheap! :hello:

Have fun, opened the darn thing! You are not going to lose much value by opening it. Maybe pennies or a few dollars. If the spot price drops that will effect the value of it more than anything else, regardless if it is opened or not.

QWAK,I bought a sealed box from Tulving last year ------ I HAD to LOOK!:cheerful: I figure in the long run it won't make much diference BUT I will most likely sell my ROUNDS befor the SILVER EAGLES.

I lined my hot tub with ROUNDS just to see how it looked and experiment with the SILVER killing bacteria, it took a little over 1200 rounds. I can't say that it worked but it shure was cool looking and made me feel RICH solking in the tub!:bath: HE HE HE

I keep a GOLD and SILVER EAGLE and a SILVER ROUND in a clear plastic TRICK box that you have to move a "BB" around a complex maze to get them out. When I want to touch them I cheet and use a MAGNET!:wavey:

don't worry about opening the green box. Doesn't change the value of the coins. Just would not open the tubes, will help keep the coins in good shape. Besides as the POS goes up, unless you are a dealer, most poeple will be selling by the tube not the entire green box. unless of course u can afford multiple green :yippee: boxes :yippee:

I open all my buys and throw them on the bed.
ThenI throw my wife on top of the pile.

She seems to like it...

What's the discount on a sticky eagle?
